Established as a manufacturer’s agency in 2006, we are located in Barrie, Ontario, Canada, less then an hours drive north from Toronto. We are the 1st Chinese Steel Lighting Pole manufacturer’s agent on the North American market.
With our first two years and our learning steps behind us, we intend to join forces with the brightest and best minds in the lighting industry.
Our successful completion of certifications with CWB, CSA, and ISO mean that a joint Canadian – Chinese company can successfully and properly conform to the requirements demanded in the North American market.
GPS is a wholly owned and operated Canadian company. Its multi-national ownership consists of 2 majority owners, the President and a Canadian, Don Bark; an American, George Tan, and 2 minority owners, both successful Chinese businessmen; Lin Yucuun the President of the steel pole manufacturing company, and Fu Shaoquiang.
To enable GPS to properly establish its credibility, Troy Chivers has been added to the staff as our resident expert in design and engineering. He also is responsible for our sales personal and Inside Sales. Many of you have dealt previously with Troy during his long tenure with Powco Steel.
Robert Gronfors has joined GPS after more then 22 years of learning the 'Steel Lighting Pole' business at Powco Steel, the last 10 as a Vice-President of the company. Rob brings his vast experience to us in the field of Sales, Sales support, Customer Relations and Pole Maintenance. Many in the trade have dealt with Rob over the years and know him.
We are fortunate to also have a very experienced Chinese manager working out of the GPS office in Zhongshan, China. Sarah Cong, the Manager of Quality Assurances and Design is trained in the North American conformities requirements only. Ms. Cong is fully tri-lingual and can be relied upon to understand all needs and nuances of our business.
Colleen Bannerman is the GPS Financial Manager with many years of Corporate Financial Structuring, International Taxation expertise, and Corporate Accounting experience. Colleen is responsible for working with 5 different currencies and International taxation issues. Colleen is well versed in keeping the business and financial end of things running smoothly.
The rest of the staff in both Canada and China is in sales, financial, and manufacturing support.
